Scottsdale Grandmother Had Warrant Out For Her Arrest Since 2016

A Scottsdale grandmother, Stephanie Davis, is facing an arrest warrant for the murder of her grandson, Chaskah Davis Smith, who was found dead last month in an Extended Stay America hotel in Scottsdale. The warrant, issued in Minnesota, has been active since 2016. Despite investigations by multiple agencies, including Scottsdale Police, the Department of Child Safety (DCS), and authorities in Minnesota, the children were allowed to remain in Davis’s care. Child advocacy group CEO Darcy Olsen pointed out that these agencies closed the cases after multiple investigations. Prosecutors revealed that Chaskah and his half-brother had been subjected to years of abuse, describing it as torture.
