OUR WORK

Invisible Children.
Fatal Consequences.

Somewhere tonight, a child is waiting for rescue.

Protection isn’t just a promise,
it’s our track record.

We don’t work from theory. We’ve held these children. Raised them. Some of us were them. We know what abuse does to a child’s nervous system, to their sleep, to their trust in the world. This isn’t policy to us — it’s personal.

And because we know the cost of getting it wrong, we build solutions that work. From policy reform to pro bono courtroom advocacy, we deliver child-first protection wherever it is needed most.

Comprehensive
Protection

Child safety is complex, necessitating advocacy across multiple areas.

Child safety protections; strict limits on time in care; sibling unity, diligent relative searches and protection of significant relationships; educational improvement; trafficking prevention and the recovery of missing children; protection of children’s resources including survivor and disability benefits; due process protections for parents; and meaningful checks and balances on government agencies.

Comprehensive Protection

Impact you can measure.

Alone

Alone. Children faced court alone, their voices unheard and their rights unprotected.

A Voice in Court

More children now have lawyers — leading to greater safety, fewer moves, and shorter time in care.

Trafficked

Children from foster care are disproportionately targeted
for sex trafficking.

Safe and Loved at Home

We reduce trafficking by decreasing reliance on group homes and moving children more quickly into safe, permanent families.

Missing

Thousands of children disappear from care each year.

Urgent Searches

We require states to treat a child missing from care with the same urgency as any other missing child — equipping agencies with the tools to find them and shut the door on traffickers.

Separated

Siblings and loved ones are torn apart.

The Bond of Family

Our reforms prioritize placement with siblings, relatives, and significant relationships to preserve the connections children need.

Educational Failure

Children in care experience some of the worst educational outcomes measured.

Education as a Priority

We protect school stability, ensure special education services, and safeguard credit accumulation so children can excel.

Resources Taken

States seized children’s Social Security and survivor benefits.

Protecting a Child’s Resources

We secure Social Security and survivor benefits so a child’s funds are preserved for their future.

Wrongfully Removed

Bureaucratic failures have led to unjust removals.

Protecting the Whole Family

We ensure parents receive competent counsel and fair hearings to prevent wrongful separation.

Aging Out Alone

Youth who leave care without family face high rates of suicide and homelessness.

Family and Independence

We work to secure safe, loving homes before aging out — and for those who do, we strengthen pathways to financial stability and independence.
